There’s something so satisfying about a good wardrobe refresh. Whether your style has shifted, your body’s changed, or you’re just fed up with clothes that no longer feel like you, a thoughtful edit can make getting dressed feel fun again — instead of frustrating.
A clear-out doesn’t have to wait for a new season or a big life event. It can happen whenever you feel ready to reset. And when you do, the results are magic: more space, less stress, and a wardrobe that actually works for your life and your body right now.
So if you’ve been meaning to give your wardrobe some love, here’s your sign — and the exact questions I ask myself every time I do mine. Save this guide for your next edit!

Questions to ask yourself
Is it damaged?
Start simple. Go through each item and check for holes, stains, missing buttons, broken zips — anything that needs fixing. If it’s repairable and you will repair it, great! If not, it’s time to say goodbye.
Does it still fit me?
If it doesn’t fit right now, ask yourself if you’re realistically going to get it altered. Don’t hang onto pieces that make you feel bad. Remember: clothes are meant to fit you, not the other way around. If it doesn’t fit, put it in a pile to resell or donate.
Did I wear this last year?
If something survived an entire 365 days unworn, be honest with yourself. If you didn’t reach for it all year, chances are… you never will. Make space for something you’ll actually enjoy wearing.
Do I feel good when I wear this?
This is a big one. Does this piece bring you confidence and joy? Or does it make you feel meh? If you don’t feel amazing in it, it’s probably not worth the wardrobe space.
Would I buy it again today?
Such a powerful question. If you saw it in a shop right now, would you pay money for it? If the answer is yes — it’s a keeper. If not, thank it for its service and move it on.

What to do with the ‘No’ Pile
Once you’ve decided what’s not staying, sort the pieces into three boxes:
- For the bin – Damaged beyond repair.
- For charity – Items in good condition that someone else could love.
- To resell – Try giving pieces a second life on sites like Vinted or eBay.
Remember: clearing out your wardrobe isn’t about loss — it’s about making space for the clothes that truly serve you. Clothes that fit, and make you feel like AMAZING.
