And this month we are looking at….
Whistles Petite is designed for women 5’3” and under, and it’s more than just shortened lengths. Each piece is carefully reworked for smaller frames, with adjustments to shoulder width, armholes, sleeve length, waist placement, and overall proportions — while keeping the standard bust, waist, and hip measurements so the fit and silhouette stay true. Known for clean lines, quality fabrics, and a modern, polished aesthetic, the collection is particularly strong on workwear and smart-casual pieces. The petite range is smaller, with around 60 styles, but sizes run from UK 4–20, which is great to see. Price-wise, it sits at the top end of the high street, starting from around £80. It’s one of my go-to brands for workwear.

“I was so excited to try on Whistles because they don’t just offer shorter lengths — they have a proper petite collection, designed with proportion in mind. According to their website, each piece is “meticulously reworked for smaller frames”, with narrower shoulders, shorter armholes and sleeves, higher waists, and shorter overall lengths, while keeping the standard bust, waist, and hip measurements. Finally, a brand that truly understands that being petite doesn’t mean being skinny. I’m happy to say… they did not disappoint. The fit was spot on, the proportions felt carefully considered, and everything just worked on my frame. Out of the five pieces I tried, four earned a full five-heart review – which really says it all. I also loved the quality fabrics, many of which are 100% cotton, giving a classic, polished feel that will last in your wardrobe. The petite collection is currently smaller than the main range, with around 60 pieces, but sizes run from UK 4 to 20, which is great to see. Prices sit at the top end of high street, reflecting the quality and timeless style. If this try-on is anything to go by, Whistles really understands how petite clothing should fit, and I can’t wait to try more from their collection“

“I tried on a size 12 as there’s no stretch, but I think a size 10 would have been a better fit. The 100% cotton fabric feels beautiful and natural. I loved this jumpsuit — it didn’t come quite as cropped as the images suggested, but I actually prefer it slightly longer. If you’re shorter than me, you could wear it full length. It’s clear a lot of thought went into creating a true petite fit: higher waist, perfectly positioned shoulders, and a slightly higher neckline. I loved how versatile it is — in winter, I’d layer it over a polo neck with boots; in spring or summer, it works beautifully with sandals, a cardigan, and a basket bag. You’ll be reaching for this piece time and time again.”

Despite being polyester, the fabric feels lovely with a great weight that drapes beautifully. There are no front pleats, but the trousers didn’t pull at all, and the length was perfect on me. “I tried on a size 10. As always, the fabric is beautiful, as expected from Whistles — 100% cotton and really high quality. The shirt is described as a boxy fit, and it definitely is — on me, it felt a bit too wide, even for a boxy style. I probably could have sized down for a more tailored feel. The sleeves and shoulders fit perfectly, and I loved the curved hem. The only thing is it felt a little too long to wear untucked. If you’re after a basic, high-quality white shirt and don’t mind a looser, boxy feel, I would definitely recommend this.”

“I absolutely loved these jeans as soon as I put them on! The cotton with stretch feels amazing and gives just the right amount of comfort and structure. I tried on a size 29, which is perfect for my in-between sizing — a size 10 tends to be a bit small, and a 12 too big, so the 29 (size 11) was just right. The length was fantastic, maybe even a little shorter than I need, so these could also work really well for extra petites. The overall proportions have clearly been thoughtfully considered — the barrel shape is flattering and gives a relaxed, modern silhouette without feeling overwhelming. They come in other colors too, so if they fit, I’d definitely recommend stocking up!”
